Participants will learn about: Handwashing and glove use Cross-contamination prevention Food allergies Cleaning versus sanitizing Safe food storage Time and temperature control Labeling and date marking Commercial kitchen workflow Inspection readiness Workplace expectations and professional conduct Personal hygiene and illness reporting For new food businesses, the course also introduces the licensing, insurance, documentation and operational considerations involved in moving from a home kitchen or business idea into commercial production. For teens, the same core curriculum is adapted to prepare students for entry-level food-service work, including kitchen safety, sanitation, reliability, teamwork, customer service and following production instructions. This course is ideal for anyone who wants to feel more confident before beginning commercial kitchen work or enrolling in an accredited food-manager certification program. Participants receive a certificate of course completion from The Family Farm Kitchen Academy. Food Safety 101 is an educational and orientation course.
